Scary experience

On Wednesday of week 3 we had just finished dinner and were all sat in the kitchen chatting and having a laugh when we hear a gun shot and men came into the room - my first thought was it was the Maasai having a laugh with us but quickly realised this was for real - there were about 8-9 men and shouting at us to get down on the floor. We all climbed under the table then they started demanding money off everyone and asking if we wanted to die. Then they started searching us and pulling jewelery off us they dragged a few people out from under the table and started kicking and beating them. One of the girls they tried to take her glasses off her and she tried to stop them so they kicked her in the face. After quite a long time of being searched they left the room but we could still hear them outside and occasionally people would come in and check on us. We then started to hear Maasai chants followed by gun shots and eventually after a long while we heard a cart start and drive away. We all stayed still under the tables until finally the Maasai came in and found us. Luckily nobody as badly hurt just bruised and shaken after a very scary experience. I was very fortunate I did not have much taken just a torch but they took money, cameras, phones, Ipods. It looked like the whole thing had been well planned and they knew exactly what they were doing!
