Week 7

This week we did an environmental seminar for the local people - one for the kids and one for the adults - the covered the earth and Africa, the water cycle and why its important not to waste water, soil erosion, deforestation, global warming and water pollution. The seminar went really well and the people seemed to really appreciate it and hopefully learnt a lot from it!

On Wednesday we went for a survey drive out in the bush looking for animals - we had an amazing morning it was so lovely being back out in the middle of no where with all the wildlife around us we saw gazelle, dik dik, zebra, giraffe - didn't see a huge amount but it was nice having some time away from camp!

On Sunday we got the chance to get away from the snake park for the day and we heading into Arusha for the day - chilled out, ate loads, went on the Internet and generally had a fun day! The trip back was entertaining we had to chance daladala half way and had no idea what was going on and then I ended up on a bus which was so full my arse was hanging out the window! It was entertaining to say the least!

I also got my Maasai scaring done! What they do is cut your skin with a razor blade then cover it with battery acid and ash! The battery acid disinfects and the ash colour the scars! I got eight cuts in total 4 under each shoulder. Luckily it didn't hurt just felt a little weird! They also bled a little bit but not as much as other peoples!
