Week 6

This week we got settled into a bit of a routine at the snake park1

I have made lots of friends here-

Timothy the baby tortoise - he is so gorgeous - but seems to spent most of his time hiding!
Suzanna the baby crocodile
Bet, Barney & Betty the barn owls
Gregory the Goshawk
Vince the vulture
Edwardo the eagle owl

So I am fitting in here just fine!

I am now teaching 5 maths lessons a week so keeping myself out of trouble! Some of the class aren't very good at their basic multiplication and division so we have been testing them on this a played a few games to get them a bit more interested. The main problem we have is a slight language barrier. We have this lovely maasai student who really tries so hard in our classes and really wants to learn which is so encouraging!

We have been doing some bird watching this week which I am getting quite into now and can actually identify some birds! We also did bat detecting one night which was so cool there are loads of bats around camp its a shame you can't see them!

On Sunday we watched them feed the snakes they fed them chicks, mice and guinea pigs some of the Snake are so vicious while others leave the food running around for ages. They also fed the large snakes and they really can attack!
