Week 10 - Zanzibar!

On Monday we left Arusha early and took a 9 hour bus journey to Dar where there were lots of dodgy films to watch! Once in Dar we walked through the town in the boiling hot heat carrying all our bags to the ferry port! We got the boat to Zanzibar which was very packed so we were all sat on the floor! We spent our first night in stonetown where we went to the fish market (unfortunately didn't get anything to eat as I was too full from dinner!) then we popped to the pub for a quick drink!

On Tuesday we had a girlie shopping morning and we all purchased too much stuff! Got some really good bargains. After lunch we headed to kendwa our new beach home for the next few days! It is absolutely gorgeous here - white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and gorgeous weather - I am in love! So we all headed straight down to the beach for some swimming, sunbathing and tasty cocktails! What a perfect way to spent the day!

Wednesday was a lazy day spent on the beach - lots of sunbathing and swimming! and everyone also got henna and massages! Unfortunately everyone also got very burnt! In the evening we had birthday cake as it was Hannah's birthday and then there was madness in the hammocks as Danni turned into bat girl and was attacking everyone - scary stuff!

Thursday we went snorkeling! My first time! We went out on a boat to a gorgeous island and snorkeled in the sea and saw lots of pretty fish! Then we had a tasty lunch on kingfish before heading back! Where I got extremely burnt! In the evening it was party time - a very drunken night was had by all thanx to the wonders of konyagi! How funny!

On Friday it was time for a lot of us to say goodbye to each other! The main bulk of the group left Zanzibar leaving just me Danni and Jinx behind. It was really sad saying goodbye to everyone after spending 10 weeks together! I nearly cried and it felt so weird after everyone had left.
