My African Adventure

This Saturday I had my training day for when I go to Tanzania - it was a very fun but very tiring day! I got to meet the people I will be living with while I am there so that was cool and so far so good they all seemed really nice and friendly! Now that's one less thing to worry about!

The day consisting with finding out what it will be like while we are out there the sort of things we will be getting up to and all it all it seems like it will be an amazing experience. My main concern at present is the fact we only get one bucket of water a week to wash so showers are limited to once a week. I can cope without most things but I do like my daily showers! I'm sure once I get there and get used to the idea it will all be fine and after all we'll all be in the same boat!

We also go the chance to test out some orienteering in Hyde park and you'll be pleased to hear we managed not to get lost! Yippee! and I discovered how to use and compass and find my way around I was quite impressed!

We had to build a archway out of paper using the least amount of paper possible and then all the team member had to fit under the arch! I was completely impressed by the fact my teams arch managed to stay up and although we didn't win we didn't come last either!

All in all I came away from the day really looking forward to heading out there it is going to be an amazing experience that most people won't get the chance to encounter!
