Tanzania

Supai. Epa. Keya toi. Sadai pii!

Arrived in Tanzania on Sunday after a long journey and a 12 hour stop over in Nairobi airport. In Nairobi they told me my booking had been cancelled for my flight to Kilimanjaro I was not amused as by this point I'd been waiting for 9-10 hours and the flight was now full. Luckily I did manage to get on the flight and it was half empty so I think they were lying to me! They flight was on this small plane with 12 rows of 4 seats each and was a very bumpy ride. On the back of the seats was a sign saying use lower seat cushion for flotation this didn't fill be with confidence as it meant there were no life jackets!

Currently we are staying just outside Arusha and we are moving to the Maasia camp tomorrow! We have been spending the last three days learning to speak Maasia and I am very slowly picking up the language the first day I didn't have a clue! So hopefully when we move to camp I'll pick it up quicker. There has been so much to learn in such a short space of time!

There are 9 volunteers out here including myself and we have 2 leaders Dave and Jinx then a Maasia warrior, Isiah, who is our teacher! Everyone is really cool and we all get along really well and have been having a great laugh!

We have had a few night out in Arusha since we have been there. Monday night was very drunken and involved lots of crazy dancing. We also got introduced to a new drink conyagi which is quit drinkable once mixed with coke!
